Hand-Felted British Wool Footstool - Blue and White Stripe

Bring warmth, texture and timeless craftsmanship into your home with this one-of-a-kind handmade footstool. Upholstered in hand-felted British wool, this piece combines naturally undyed white wool with indigo-dyed blue stripes, creating a fresh, understated design. 

From farm to finished piece, every stage of the felt-making process is completed by hand. The wool is sourced directly from a Cornish farm before being washed, carded, naturally dyed with indigo where required, and wet felted to create a durable upholstery fabric that celebrates the unique character of British wool.

The wooden footstool has been carefully restored and reupholstered, giving new life to a quality piece of furniture while showcasing the beauty and versatility of hand-felted wool. The soft blue stripes contrast beautifully with the natural white tones of the undyed fleece, creating a timeless design that complements both contemporary and traditional interiors.

This footstool was created as a sample piece while developing this striped design. During its restoration, one of the wooden legs retained a small cosmetic dent, which can be seen in the photographs. While this minor imperfection does not affect the stool's strength, stability or functionality, it has been reflected in the price. It remains a beautifully handcrafted, one-of-a-kind piece, now available at a reduced price.

Care

Gently vacuum using a soft brush attachment or wipe with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and excessive moisture. As with all naturally dyed textiles, subtle changes in colour over time are part of the material's natural character.
